I am an experimental physicist, currently working in trapped ions lab, with a deep interest in exploring the benefits of measurement and information processing in quantum over classical systems. Recently I've become more generally interested in topics like applied statistical learning and mathematical computation, as the industrial application of these techniques to large data sets has a lot of practical overlap with the from-theory-to-implementation aspects of experimental physics. In the past, I've worked as a government contractor for the Navy and I am also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Iraq.
