Research experiences include devising theoretical strategies for practical quantum information processing with solid-state elements, such as superconducting Josephson junctions and semiconducting quantum dots, and fault-tolerant quantum computing with topological quantum error-correcting codes. Other professional experiences include teaching graduate- and undergraduate-level physics courses, co-supervising PhD students and reviewing activities for prominent international journals.
